The user manual is terrible. It was just OK as a guide to assembling the machine. It is awful as a guide to the variety of settings to make the machine work properly. It is not good enough to translate the manual from another language into English and assume it will make sense- it doesn't. Having had one test run with the detector around my back yard, I think I now mostly understand how it works. The detector seems quite sensitive so should be good to detect metal at some depth (as the specs indicate).. Overall happy with it.
